Anna - Vocals, keys
Andreas - Bass, guitars, synth

Having a great time at the end of the world.

Novozero blends powerful vocals, synths and fuzzed out basslines into a big rock sound that packs a punch, but doesn’t necessarily focus on the electric guitar as the primary lead instrument.

We draw inspiration from a wide array of genres, art and people. Old bluesy crooning, post-punk, 80’s pop/new wave, 90’s alt-rock and modern electronic dance music. Anna loves powerful choruses and strong melodies, Andreas likes fuzz pedals and 80’s synths.

History

During the harsh and dark January winter in northern Norway 2021 we sat down to write. We had talked for years about writing together without much happening, but somehow this particular winter it happened.

We had recently moved from our nations capital to the other side of the country, and what met us was a city in full lockdown, surfing the crest of a third wave of the corona pandemic.

It was cold and the land was blacked out in permanent Polar Night. We were isolated and alone in a new city, feeling like we just moved to the end of the world.

The writing sessions spawned a handful of songs, three of which was included on our debut EP ‘Everything’s a Bit Funny Right Now’ .

The songs ‘This Town’ and ‘Everything’s a Bit Funny Right Now’ received national airplay on NRK, and both are still in regular rotation on regional radio one year later. This Town also climbed to #2 on NRK Urørt’s most played-list.

Novozero’s newest single ‘I See’ leans harder into fuzzy, bouncy basslines and distorted synths drenched in reverb, further solidifying the bands take on, the rather unusual, "rock’n’roll, but without a lead guitar”.

This single is the first song from Novozero’s debut album that is currently being written, to be released before the end of Q2 2023.
